Section 8: Prejudice News

Texan developer and publisher TimeGate Studios has decided to distribute Section 8: Prejudice, the sequel to Section 8 on the PlayStation Network for a lot less than the previous one. A fully-featured sci-fi shooter with a five-hour campaign, 32-player competitive online multiplayer and a 4-player Horde-style co-op Swarm mode, Section 8: Prejudice represents ludicrously good value for money at just $14.99.

“We’re challenging the notion of just how much quality and value we can pack into a digital download first-person shooter,” said Adel Chaveleh, CEO of TimeGate Studios. “Our target is very simply to be the highest quality, best value digital FPS on the market.  Prejudice is a full-retail-scoped product, so I’m sure our fans will be very happy with our price-point decision.”

TimeGate is also planning to support the game with “a substantial downloadable content plan” post-launch, meaning that you’ll potentially be playing Section 8: Prejudice well into 2011 and possibly even beyond. The price point of just $14.99 comes as a bit of a shock and it’s certainly a bold strategy. We’ll see if it works when Section 8: Prejudice releases on PSN in Q1 2011.
