Catherine Demo Coming Soon, New Trailer and Screenshots

The new video introduces viewers to a growing phenomenon that has just recently enveloped Vincent, the game’s protagonist.  When he goes to sleep every night, he finds himself in the middle of twisted, terrifying nightmares, forced to climb up before his footing gives way and he plummets to his demise, and away from horrific manifestations in order to stay alive.  Moreover, Vincent is not alone in this challenge; other men are struggling through the same supernatural maze.  All of this is, of course, complementary to the dilemmas Vincent creates for himself during the day in his interpersonal relationships.

The July 12 demo will introduce players to the main characters, particularly Vincent and his growing sense of panic at repeatedly finding himself within terror-filled nightmares.  Fans can enjoy the stunning anime from Studio 4°C, the beautifully rendered in-engine cutscenes, and get their first hands-on with Catherine’s core gameplay as they navigate Vincent through his nightmares.  Even North American gamers who tried the Japanese demo will have reason to download, as it will offer them a chance to preview to the English voice track.  Fans are encouraged to log onto their platform of choice download the Catherine demo early next week!

Rock of Ages New Screenshots

A rock-solid combination of deep strategy, rock-rolling action, and captivating art and music from throughout history! Two castles stand opposed, bridged by an uneven, narrow pathway. One is yours, and you’re quite fond of it. See how the parapets catch the sunlight ever so stylishly? The other is your enemy’s; they’re a jerk, and their crappy crenellations are driving down your property values. Also, their castle sucks, justification enough to try crush it using an enormous rolling stone. Unfortunately, they’ll have a chance to plan and build up some security, doing everything they can to derail your razing rock. Get through their defenses and you’re one step closer to crushing their unsightly tower (see also: their hopes and dreams). But don’t take your turn for granite. Once your turn is over, your opponent’s begins…

Catherine coming to North America in Summer 2011

Catherine is heading for a North American release in summer 2011, charting protagonist Vincent’s awkward journey through relationship hell, as he’s caught up in a strange love triangle. There’s sheep and goats involved too for reason.

“Catherine is an unprecedented exploration of the pleasures and horrors of love,” commented Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales at Atlus. “As Vincent, a man recently succumbed to the irresistible beauty of the game’s titular diversion, players find themselves swept into a treacherous love triangle.  Catherine’s core themes-those of free will, of the delicate nature of relationships and the choices we make within them, marry perfectly with the intense, terror-filled gameplay that serves to accurately reflect Vincent’s growing sense of anxiety.  It is an experience wholly unlike any to come before it, and is certain to leave gamers talking and thinking about Vincent’s tribulations long after the credits have rolled.”

You can head over to official Catherine site and preorder the game now.
