NeverDead Details

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced that its forthcoming NeverDead title for PlayStation®3 and the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft will feature an original track from thrash metal legends, Megadeth.

Perfectly in line with the hard-edged gameplay of NeverDead, Megadeth has produced a track called “Never Dead” which will be used in the game. The band has also confirmed the track will also feature on their next album. “I wanted the song to start off very moody and then to get really aggressive towards the end, so that it would keep you drawn into the game,” explained Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. “But I had to make sure it wouldn’t distract you from the game itself and I think I did that. There’s great guitar solos in this song and I hope you like it. I hope the game kicks your ass, too.

NeverDead begins with the world under threat from a demonic plague. Centuries have passed since the world succumbed to an unforeseen shadow of evil cast by the Demon King. Then, a man called Bryce Boltzman and his beloved wife dared stand up to him, but while his wife was killed, Bryce was cursed with eternal life. Now, as these demons rise once again in the present day and are wreaking unrelenting mayhem, Bryce Boltzman must once again make a stand…

NeverDead is a third-person action title set in a fantasy horror-influenced universe where supernatural battles between humans and extraordinary creatures span a vast modern day cityscape. Players wield an arsenal of guns and a unique Butterfly blade to annihilate waves of unholy enemies. Bryce can rebuild his battle-weary body by collecting and reattaching any lost limbs. But he has an even more impressive ability up his sleeve: He is immortal and cannot die.

As the player is attacked by the various miscreants, Bryce can be torn limb from limb, but can simply reattach the parts to his body. Even in the case Bryce loses his limbs, Bryce can roll around as a head, looking to reattach his limbs. He can even use his amputated body parts as weapons, throwing arms into clusters of monsters, and still firing the attached gun, or lobbing his head into seemingly impossible areas, to gain access to new parts of the map.
