Plants vs. Zombies coming to PlayStation Network

Zombies_vs_plant

Prepare to ‘soil your plants’, as the saying goes, because PopCap’s brilliant tower defensey-type game, Plants vs. Zombies is making its way to the PlayStation Network “soon”.

Tasking players with juggling the right combination of currency creating sunflowers, pea-shooters, wall-nuts, potato mines (spudow!) and other weird and wonderful botanical weaponry to fight off waves of slavering zombies, Plants vs. Zombies is a one of a kind strategy game, making its impending arrival on PSN, welcome news indeed.

And nor has the pricing or date been confirmed as yet, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for those details. And be sure to keep your juicy braaaaaaaainsss safe until then too.

Update: I’ve asked a couple of questions to the folks at PopCap and here’s the Q&A.

Q: Does Plants vs. Zombies for the PS3 includes the same exclusive extras that graced the XBLA version on Xbox 360, meaning that co-op, versus, and a host of mini games?
A: Art is 720p Native from XBLA. Upscaling to 1080p. The audio is identical to the XBLA title. There is  no perceivable difference between the two. Local multiplayer only. There is no remote/PSN functionality for multiplayer.

Q:How much would it cost in the US PSN Store?
A: US $14.99

Q: Is there going to be any different new features added on the PlayStation 3 platform?
A: 12 achievements and 21 mini-games, including the fan favorite Heavy Weapon mini-game, inspired by another of PopCap’s popular titles. As well, a novel, fun way to track and share progress online, where players create and accessorize their own custom house and cruise down the street to see their friends’ cribs!

Plants vs. Zombies is now out on the PlayStation Network for $14.99
